Cello & Double Bass Teacher
Tyler Belluz graduated from the prestigious Indiana University School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Performance, major in double bass. He has performed with major symphonies including the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, the National Ballet Orchestra of Canada, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Niagara Symphony and a long term performance commitment with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Tyler regularly performs in many respectable world wide music festivals. Some of his most exciting performances include his recent tour of Latin America with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and performances at Carnegie Hall with the New York String Seminar Orchestra. Tyler has studied under world renowned musician Lawrence Hurst.
Tyler taught both the Edmonton and Calgary Youth Orchestras' at the Western Canadian Youth Symposium. He has taught Brazil's Neojiba Youth Orchestra Project in Salvador, Brazil. Tyler has also educated at the newly founded YOURS Project (Youth Orchestra Uptown Rita Simo) in Chicago.
As a chamber musician Tyler was on full scholarship for two long term residencies at The Banff Centre. He has since collaborated in performance with members of the St Lawrence String Quartet, Vermeer Quartet, Schoenberg Quartet, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic, the Principal Violist of the Metropolitan Opera, among countless others.
In popular music Tyler has recorded a full length album with Kara Keith under Grammy Nominated Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire) and additionally recorded with Ohbijou (Bella Union Records, Last Gang Records), The Wooden Sky (Black Box Recordings), Kite Hill (for the 'Friends in Bellwoods' compilation with Out of this Spark Records). Other current projects include folk rock Jordan Faye; Toronto City Limits, as well as the ever popular (Toronto Chapter) Classical Revolution.
We are very fortunate to have Tyler come in join our MagicK Orchestra of Klaudia's Music Studio and help spread the passion for double bass and cello among students. Although Tyler majored in double bass, he teachers cello to students of all ages, beginners and advanced. He is caring in nature, talented in passing the knowledge to his students and professional in his methods.
