Oakville Celtic Fiddler TeacheOakville Fiddle Lessonsr

Ian has played violin with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra for the past 17 years and is also a member of his own 16 Mile Fiddle Group, where he relives the fondness he had for Scottish music in his youth. He is also a member of the Mystic MagicK Orchestra comprised of students of Klaudia’s Music Studio. Previously, he played with the Dundas Valley Orchestra and with the Masterworks Orchestra of Oakville.

His other musical interest is choral singing, he is a former member of Maple Grove United Church choir, and a founding member of Oakville Masterworks Chorus.

Ian has attended several week-long fiddle camps directed by Alasdair Fraser, one of the most highly-regarded fiddlers in the Celtic world.

Ian currently specializes in teaching Celtic fiddling. His approach to teaching is friendly, adapts to individual needs and motivates students toward achieving their personal best. He is very enthusiastic about violin playing and will encourage young, as well as ‘young at heart’!
