As of January we will be offering a NEW CLASS: GROUP THEORY for beginners, Saturdays from 12:00 – 1:00 at Glen Abbey location with Ms. Sue.

Information about this class: for children of any level of instrumental playing who never took any theory classes before, or have taken very limited number of classes. Highly recommended for strings: violin, cello, double bass, guitar students, as well as piano students and all other instruments. We will not set any age restrictions, depending on who signs up we will evaluate the class. Maximum 10 students can enroll. Fee: $22/hour lesson.

Starting at Level 1 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) new book. We moving at fast pace, covering systematically all steps and gathering considerable advantage of understanding theory behind all music. We encourage you to read up on importance of theory lessons on our website. The theory knowledge will create a well rounded musician. Importance is great! Even if you never take any exam. But speaking of exam: As of Level 5 RCM all students who are doing practical exams on their instrument will require a written theory exam to obtain a certificate. If you start learning theory prior to Level 5 instrumental, it puts you ahead. Better understanding of music will show in your instrumental playing. In these classes we also cover EAR TRAINING, which is a requirement as well. For new students this information might be overwhelming. Feel free to ask about it and if your child is the right candidate.

Location of this theory class: Klaudia’s Music Studio at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate.
