2023 music summer violin camp will take place in Oakville.
Structure of the camp is based on VIOLIN PLAYING technique, classical music subjects and discovery of new musical instruments including piano, viola, cello, double bass, drums, guitar and harp.
When deciding on best camp for your child you need to carefully consider all aspects of choosing the perfect camp. There are different types of children with different personalities and at around the age of 5 – 7 they are starting to show it. Here at Klaudia’s Music Studio, our goal is to offer something your child will remember as fun, new, interesting and full of discovery. The camp runs in July and August on specific weeks, including last week of summer before the school begins and you can pick one or more weeks. We run full-day camp from Monday to Thursday. As a new choice this year: you can choose 2 days, either Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday. Price is based on 2 days of camp, $160. Most students pick 4-day week, $320.
Experience is not required, complete beginners are welcome. We loan the violin (or a different instrument of your choice) for a week to take home and practice, while at camp. The instruction is aimed to inspire more than anything. The concert is cute and makes us feel accomplished. It also shows the parents and caregivers an idea of what we’ve been learning. From there, when the camp ends, there is a path to new discoveries, as some children decide to pursue violin, or different instrument in September in private one-on-one lessons. This comes naturally, we don’t expect every child to sign up for lessons, it is just a good option to have after they get familiar with our environment and our teachers. Some children prefer to only have summer fun with violin and then run away from it to pursue anything but violin. And we respect that and totally understand. Like we mentioned at the beginning there are different personalities among us. So, when it comes to recommended age, it is 5 – 7 years old, but even older children of age 8-15 can join. The children of all age brackets interact well, there is not too much difference in material learned and it runs well as one group. But from the past we learned that we allow also one year down to accommodate the siblings and friends going to camp together, as young as 4 years old. This brings us to having 4 year olds in our camp and then on the other end we have 15 year olds. When this happens we split the children based on age into groups and the educational part of the camp is done slightly differently for each. They still have most activities together and we produce the concert together. As more children sign up we have more staff to taka care of all the particulars. The summer camp violin portion is lead and taught by the artistic director of this music school Ms. Klaudia. She is an experienced violin teacher, violinist and string orchestra conductor, adored by her students. She is passionate about proper posture at playing, fixing previous bad habits, gently correcting to achieve the best sound and emphasizes violin playing to be a pain free experience.
